Interim Coverage Period: October 28 – December 31, 2026
Reporting To: Vice President of Hospitality Operations
Picture this: about two months, a tropical island, and the keys to a full-service condo-hotel — while the person who normally runs them are out. That's this role, in plain terms. It's a Resort Sitter position — someone we trust to move in, run the show with real authority, and hand it back in good shape.
Underneath the pitch, it's a real General Manager assignment covering ECI Development properties on Ambergris Caye — Grand Baymen Gardens (Best Western) — during the current GM’s maternity leave, October 28 through December 31, 2026.
Grand Baymen Gardens is the primary base, where the assignment holder lives on-site and holds full GM authority. Since the current GM will be on maternity leave and off-duty for the full window, the Baymen scope includes owner relations and property management execution alongside F&B, amenities, and staff oversight. HOA matters are led directly by the VP of Hospitality Operations during this assignment.
The Draw
• Rent-free on-site housing in a one-bedroom condo at Grand Baymen Gardens.
• A defined term with a clear start and end date (October 28 – December 31, 2026) — built for someone between roles, taking a sabbatical-style assignment, or testing fit before a longer-term GM search.
• A resident expert next door: Current GM remains on-site and available informally if a question comes up.
• Structured as a month-to-month assignment across the coverage window (October 28 – December 31, 2026).
• The full period may be covered by a single individual or split across multiple people by month, for any portion of the window.
• Assignment ends earlier than December 31, 2026, if current GM returns from leave ahead of schedule.
Current GM will be on maternity leave and off-duty for the full window, though living on-site. This assignment covers the full range of day-to-day GM responsibility at Baymen except HOA matters, which the VP of Hospitality Operations heads directly.
• Owner relations — serve as the primary point of contact for residence owners on day-to-day operational, rental, and service matters.
• HOA matters — led directly by the VP of Hospitality Operations; the GM supports with execution and documentation as directed, rather than serving as primary point of contact.
• Property management execution and documentation — carry out and document day-to-day PM matters (maintenance, standards, shared priorities) in coordination with the VP of Hospitality Operations.
• Oversight and continued growth of the in-house F&B program (continental breakfast and bar service, with poolside grill and rooftop bar rollout as applicable).
• Oversight of the newly branded Grand Baymen Athletic & Leisure Club and on-property amenity operations, including gym upgrades underway.
• Identification and correction of staff training and performance issues at Baymen.
• Financial oversight: budgets, expense management, and owner reporting.
Current GM will continue residing on-site at Grand Baymen Gardens (the “White House” unit) during her leave and will be available informally to answer questions or provide institutional knowledge, at her own discretion.
Note: This availability is voluntary and informal. It should not be scheduled, relied upon as a working resource, or treated as part of current GM’s job duties while she is on protected maternity leave. The assignment holder should be fully self-sufficient in both roles without depending on Joey's active involvement.
